I thought the bloke on loan from Palace seemed like a decent kid, even if he is a bit funny looking. Even felt a bit sorry for him.
The best character is that Methven bloke in his red trousers in the second series. Loved it when he was over the moon with back to back wins at Wimbledon and Gillingham.

Binge watched series 1 last night great viewing... can I say what grade a cunts Rodwell and a few of the senior players came across... John O'shea the exception... cracked me up the fan offering Chris Coleman out... good bunch the WANNABE Durham bumpers... 30k hardcore no plastics..

I went up to Roker Park twice, and you did feel there was sumthink special in the air there. You could sense that the club is everything there, real working class. That said, I've always had Sunderland down as a 'boring' club. I mean, has anyone ever looked forward to a Sunderland fixture, home or away?
Not watched this shit yet, but think will get onto it.

Didn't really take notice of Sunderland before watching this but now wish them all the luck. Their fans are unbelievable. Queuing up the day after being relegated to league 1 to get their season tickets in the hundreds was quality.

The series should be compulsory viewing for all football fans. Particularly those of ‘big’ clubs who take success and trips to Wembley and trophies for granted. They could learn a lot from what Sunderland have been through. Really feel for their fans. Proper people. Also how United a single club town is.

just started the second series - lovin it so far. Does make you fear for them even more with the current situation - same as the likes of stoke , hull, boro .all "big" clubs i.e BIG expectation and overheads and wage bills - all stuck down the bottom of the championship

That checkatrade trophy final ep was quite emotional. Team being greeted and cheered at the station, the realisation of what a huge day it is for the fans and club and the heartbreak of losing on pens. They have a horrendous record at Wembley.
Weird how football has a way of throwing up things like Jonny Williams playing against them in the playoff final.

Loved it, both series excellent.
Hard not to feel sorry for their fans, proper working class people who genuinely love that club.
It's a stark reminder of what could quite easily happen to us with those two idiotic old fools we have running the show here.

I thought Jack Rodwell came across as a complete cunt in the first series. Offered a way out, to restart his career, club could do with his 65k a week off the wage bill, but decided to sit it out. Absolute wanker and the epitome of the modern day 'footballer'
Some good people work at that club though and I don't mind Sunderland as a football club to be fair, had a real tough time of it at late and as always its those good people and the fans who suffer.

The first series was excellent. Hard to follow. Second one seems good so far. The producers have done a really good job with it.
Interestingly we are linked with Josh Maja in some of the papers this morning. They make him looks like an absolute world beater in the first couple of eps of season 2.

I’ve enjoyed both series. In this one I think that one of the underlying problems is that the new owner didn’t do enough financial diligence on the purchase. The players contracts, the overall financial situation with the old owner covering all of the losses on a monthly basis seemed to be news to them. No doubt it looked like a good deal, but you wonder if they still overpaid as beneath the surface their were many financial issues.
A little like in past years when people would rush into buying a pub without really understanding the ability to make a return.

Watched both series, quite enjoyed them. See they are currently 7th with 3 points between 2nd and 8th, somehow you know they will fuck it up, if the season ever gets going again! Personally thought the owner's heart was in the right place

Haven’t watched either but can’t see the tension in Man City deciding which 4 new £60m players they are going to buy while Pep tells you how hard things are.
The Sunderland one of an absolute car crash as they plummet sounds much more interesting.
And probably more relatable to West Ham fans

Very entertaining, albeit I feel a bit guilty about watching a club's demise as entertainment. It could quite easily happen to us with the buffoons we have in charge.
The floppy-haired owner is a bit cringe. All this drinking with the fans before-hand seems a bit needy to me, like he's desperate to be liked.

Echo Jim here really enjoyed both seasons
Since I knew few (if any) of the results it allowed me to be swept along in the tension
Not giving a fuck about the results also meant I could enjoy it
That Methven bloke was a fucking prick!

Thoroughly enjoyed both seasons, even more so than the Man City All or Nothing as there was far more focus on the supporters- the lifeblood of any club.
It also made me realise that although West Ham do my head in most of the time and I hate what we have become as a club, like Sunderland, we still have the support but are not that shit.

This is a good watch and kind of feel for the fans.
The clubs a mess. Players on 50k a week in league 1 although think they have finally moved these on now. Despite all their cost cutting still losing around 20 million a year. Crazy.
If they had held onto maja they would of gone up I’m sure. Shows agents for what they are. Bunch of snakes but we knew that already.
